Elizabeth Lane is a Freelance photographer who lives on the south coast of Banks Peninsula, New Zealand. Her passion for documentary photography has taken her to some exotic and curious corners of the world.
She has photographed everything from glitzy fashion shows and beautiful weddings right down to the muddy streets of Mumbai and mystical lakes of Guatemala.
After living in England for several years, Elizabeth returned to Christchurch in early 2012. It was her first time experiencing the devastation caused by the February 22nd earthquake in 2011 and seeing first hand the aftermath and residual impact it had had on so many lives.
Over the last three years, Elizabeth has felt inspired by the fortitude that has united Christchurch and has since been documenting some of the intriguing art and creativity that has transpired in the empty spaces of the former city.
She quotes:
"Photography inspires me. Drives me. I am continuously looking for new projects. The desire to continue travelling grows inside me every day. I live life to the fullest, discovering as much as I can of planet earth every year. I hate walking on already established trails, I'd rather be different and create my own path. I am an ambitious entrepreneur but the 9 to 5 type jobs do not interest me. I have a strong desire to inspire people in my own way and to motivate people to think outside the square."
